Parents should be willing to lose their identity at the mention of the ward's name.

.......Little did I realise my parental prowess until my son started going to school. (Play School, le' me correct it).His admission to school added altogether a new dimension to my otherwise obscure persona. No more I was called Mr Joshi, or Pramod or was as to - that couple leave early and come back late, who live in the first floor flat over there.

To the children living in our Apartment I came to be known as Krithik's papa and their parent's also referred to me the same way. My social circle enlarged as parents of Krithik's friends came to drop them and pick them up on his birthday or when I dropped him at his friend's place on similar occasions. We met regularly at our Apartment children's play area or at parent teacher's meeting, annual day functions or at some other place. Casual acquaintances and exchange of pleasantries soon blossomed into friendship. I soon began to be identified as Krithik's Papa just as I was known as Bhatt Mama's son in my hometown.

The other day, when I called Miss Abhigna, Krithik's school teacher, over the phone, I introduced as usual, as to "Good Morning Ma'm, I am Joshi speaking," for which, she as if corrected, saying " Is it Krithik's Father speaking ?.. good morning Sir." I have made up my mind now-onwards in this circle I should better correct my name and be referred to as Krithik's Papa, and better be proud with that, which I am. !!.
